BU Hosts Mr. Mevlüt Çavusoglu for a Distinguished Panel on Regional Cooperation -

In a landmark academic and diplomatic event, the International Balkan University (IBU) proudly hosted Mr. Mevlüt Çavusoglu, Member of the Turkish Parliament and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, for a high-level panel discussion titled “Geopolitics, Diplomacy, and Legal Frameworks for Regional Cooperation in the Balkans.”

The event brought together a diverse and influential audience, including Mr. Orhan Murtezani, Minister for European Affairs of North Macedonia, along with members of parliament, diplomats, NGO representatives, and academics from across the region. Their presence underscored the panel’s regional significance and the growing role of IBU as a trusted platform for dialogue and international cooperation.

The ceremony began with an impactful presentation of IBU’s promotional video, offering guests a glimpse into the university’s dynamic academic environment, diverse student body, and forward-thinking mission.

The video was followed by opening remarks from IBU Rector Prof. Dr. Lutfi Sunar, Head of the Legal Clinic Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish, and Head of the Balkan Research Center Asst. Prof. Dr. Flamur Ismaili, who also moderated the panel discussion.

As the keynote speaker, Mr. Çavusoglu captivated the audience with his deep expertise in international relations and regional diplomacy.

Drawing from his extensive diplomatic career, he provided a nuanced perspective on geopolitical challenges and opportunities in the Balkans, emphasizing the value of legal cooperation, cultural dialogue, and regional solidarity.

The event, organized jointly by the Balkan Research Center and the Legal Clinic at IBU, served as a testament to the university’s role as a leading institution for critical thought and intercultural exchange.
